A few years back,
I was having morning prayer and worship time and decided to try something
different, so I picked up my guitar and started singing hymns. After a
bit, the thought occurred to me that maybe there was a song that the Lord
wanted to hear, rather than just songs that I wanted to sing. So, not
being one to beat around the bush, I asked Him…And lo and behold, “The Old,
Old Path” came to mind. I played it and
the Spirit was so strong that I cannot find words to express it!
I continued to play the songs that came to mind for about fifteen minutes. Then I put my guitar aside and just sat there basking in His Spirit and thinking about Him and His plans and purposes for me.
Then another thought occurred to me: musical instruments should be built and used to praise the Lord, and if they are not, then they are not fulfilling the measure of their creation just as we humans are or are not!
